About My Community

I live in the Lower East Side (L.E.S) of Manhattan. However, what I like to call my community is my church, Monte Sion Christian Church. Monte Sion grew out of a burden placed in the hearts of three godly men Christmas Eve 1949. This passion was to minister in Spanish to the growing number of Puerto Rican and Dominican souls who were moving between 14th street and Houston Street in the lower East Side of Manhattan. Now Monte Sion is a mix of native-born Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, and Ecuadorians, with their first and second-generation New York born and raised children. We are reaching out to the changing Lower Manhattan community by means of ministering in Spanish and English. We have evaluated different contemporary and traditional worship and ministry in the Holy Spirit, to become a truly bilingual multicultural congregation.........and we have. We have had many people who were apart of other religions such as Muslims, Jehovah witnesses, and catholics convert to Christianity and accept Jesus Christ into their lives.

Here is our church's website where you can view the schedule of our services, monthly calenders, read about Jesus Christ, and listen to some of our pastor's messages/preachings. http://www.montesionchristianchurch.org/ Through our website there is also a link to our council's website.
