Community News: Good Friday & Easter Sunday!

Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of us so that we may be forgiven for our sins. He died on the cross and resurrected three days later. We recgnize his sacrifice on Good Friday which is this friday April 6 and his resurrection on Easter Sunday which is this Sunday April 8. All are welcome this week. The day of Jesus Christ's crucifixion there were seven main things he said on the cross stated in the bible titled the last seven words of Jesus, but they are really sentences. On Good Friday these last seven words are explained in the message/preaching.

Jesus' last seven words were:

1. "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." Luke 23:34

2. "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." Luke 23:43

3. "Jesus said to his mother: "Woman, this is your son". Then he said to the disciple: "This is your mother." John 19:26-27

4. "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34

5. "I thirst" John 19:28

6. "It is finished" John 19:30

7. "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit" Luke 23:46

When Jesus resurrected three days later the holes in his hands and feet still showed not because Jesus wanted them to stay there. He has all the power to heal them but he keeps them so that we remember that He died for us. By coming to our Good Friday and Easter Sunday services you can learn more about Jesus Christ's crucifixion and resurrection.
